Our Purpose The purpose of GetBible.org is to promote the salvation of the lost souls, the edification of believing Christians through the use and teaching of God's word by conservative biblical authors, the worldwide proclamation of God's saving grace through the shed blood and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary, the defense of the faith once delivered unto the saints (Jude 3) until Jesus comes for His church. It is the intent of GetBible.org to function freely as a evangelistic, independent site, recognizing no ecclesiastical authority other than God's word through His Holy scripture. We reject all worldly philosophies that seek to destroy true Biblical Christianity. The Authorized King James Version is to be used as our principle (but not exclusive) source of reference for Holy scripture. GetBible.org Doctrinal Statement
We believe in the Holy Scripture, accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments as the very Word of God, verbally inspired in all parts in its original autographs, our infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice. We believe in the deity of God the Father, the deity of Jesus, the Son of God, and the deity of the Holy Spirit We believe in the deity of Christ;e believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. the creation of man by the direct act of God; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; His identification as the only begotten Son of God; We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice, sinful and lost, and have within themselves no possible means of salvation without Christ. His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; His shed blood for atonement; We believe that, while we were yet sinners, Jesus Christ shed His precious Blood on the cross, and died, that we might have life, and have it more abundantly (Rom. 5:8; John 10:10). His power to save men from sin; the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the gift of gift of God through Jesus Christ to all who will repent, and believe the Gospel .Salvation, a ...eternal life by the grace of God....free the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His bodily resurrection We believe that Jesus rose again from the dead (1 Thess. 4:14; Luke 24:1-8; Acts 10:34-41; Luke 24:33-46). We believe that the Head of the church is Christ ...His lordship over all creation(Mt. 16:18; Col. 1:18; Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 4:15; Ephesians 1:21) (Mark 1:15; John 3:16). (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; Luke 2:1-7; John 1:14; John 3:16; Acts 13:16-41; 1 John 4:1-15). We believe that Jesus, some days after His resurrection from the dead, ascended to God in heaven His ascension into Heaven there to be our Intercessor; (Acts1:1-10; Eph. 1:15-23). We believe in the personal return of Jesus with power and great glory (Luke 21:27), and that His return is an event for saved people to look forward to with great expectation and with constant watchfulness and prayer (Luke 21:34-36; 1 John 3:2-3). We believe that this same Jesus, which was taken up from the apostles into heaven, shall so come in like manner as they saw Him go into heaven (Acts 1:1-11). We believe it is the privilege and duty of every Christian--to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to live a holy life, and to be always ready for the return of Jesus, and that, in the meantime, each Christian should Occupy (keep busy in His will, and in His service) till the Lord's return (John 7:37-39; Acts 1:8; Eph. 5:18; Matt. 24:44; Luke 19:13; Titus 2:11-15; 1 Peter 1:13-19) . We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, makes believers children of God through the new birth, assures them of Heaven, and is faithful to forgive. We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation is the free gift of God, not by any virtue or works of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and all true believers possess the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness, sonship in the family of God, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish. We believe in the existence of Satan, the deceiver and god of this present world; that he was defeated and judged at the cross, and therefore his final doom is certain. We believe in the second coming of Christ; the time being unrevealed but always imminent; that when He comes He will first by resurrection of the dead and the translation of the living remove from the earth His waiting church; then pour out the righteous judgments of God upon the unbelieving world, afterwards descend with His church and establish His glorious and literal kingdom over all the nations for a thousand years. We believe that the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven; that at His second coming their works will be judged and rewards determined; that the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hell until the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, judged, and cast into the lake of fire, the place of final and everlasting punishment. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that Christ is our Great High Priest and through Him every born-again person has direct access into God's presence without the need of a human priest; that the believer has the right and responsibility personally to study and interpret the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit. We believe that a New Testament church is an organized body of born-again baptized believers practicing scriptural ordinances and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission. We believe in the separation of church and state; that God has ordained both, and has delegated authority to each; the authority of one must not interfere with the other; however, this does not mean that the state is to be non-religious nor does it mean that the church and its members may not be involved in the political processes of this nation. We believe the officers of the church are Pastors and Deacons. In Scripture the Pastor is also referred to as an Elder. The two terms describe the same office. We believe the two scriptural ordinances given to the local church are baptism by immersion of believers only, and the Lord's Supper to be partaken of by obedient Christians We believe in evangelism (Acts 20:20-21; Acts 20:25-27).live in the world without being of the world (1 Cor. 7:30-31; 2 Cor. 1:12; 2 Tim. 2:4). We believe that we should have respect for the authority of civil government.
We believe in the need to practice Scriptural separation.
Article 8 - Ordinances We believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus Christ commanded the observance of two ordinances before He ascended unto His Father in Heaven; namely Baptism (Matt. 28:19) and the Lord's Supper (I Cor. 11:23-30). Section 8.1 - Baptism We believe that all truly born-again believers are to follow the Bible example of the baptism of Jesus (Matt. 3:13-17). As we believe that He was immersed, so we conclude that we are to be immersed after this example. Although salvation is not contingent upon baptism (Eph. 2:8,9), we believe that every born-again believer will gladly follow the Lord in Scriptural baptism as soon after conversion as possible as a public confession of the salvation experience: a complete break with all known sin and the world, and a sincere intent to reckon oneself dead unto sin and alive unto God (Rom. 6:3-5). This ordinance openly signifies that the believer is truly crucified with Christ and buried with Him, being dead to sin and resurrected with Him by the power of God to newness of life through Him (Acts 2:38-41). Section 8.2 - Lord's Supper The Lord's Supper is a commemorative ordinance to be observed by the church in memory of the Savior (I Cor. 11:24). "This do in remembrance of me" (Lk. 22:19). Only baptized believers have a right to partake of the Supper (Acts 2:41,42). The fellowship of this table will be observed normally once a month or at other times as deemed wise by the Pastor and Deacons. A careful examination of the heart should have been made by each believer, for the unworthy partaking of the Lord's Supper brings damnation (judgment) upon himself (I Cor. 11:28-30). . GetBible.org Fellowship Disclaimer GetBible.org does not indorse or condone the social mixing with various religions (interfaith) or doctrines for the purpose of 'so called' Christian fellowship. We do however, support casual interaction for the purpose of evangelical outreach. We further resolve, in obedience to the Scriptural practice of separation, that 'biblical' Christian fellowship consists of those like minded in ALL bible doctrine; that in obedience believers are to mark and avoid teachers of theological error and admonish and keep no company with continually disobedient brethren ( 2 John 1:9-11; 1Corinthians 1:10; 2Corinthians 6:14-18 ). “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” 1Corinthians 1:10 To avoid conformity to the world (Rom. 12:2; 2 Cor. 6:14-18) (Rom. 16:17; 2 John 1:9-11) To (2 Thes. 2:15; 2 Thes. 3:6)
